David G. Nielson co-founded Stonecrest Insurance Services in 1999 alongside K. Andrew Byers. Together, they built the agency around a simple but powerful premise: an independent agency can deliver better outcomes for clients than any captive agent tied to a single carrier — because independence means the client's interests always come first. David has been licensed in California insurance for more than 40 years, bringing a depth of market knowledge and carrier relationships that can only come from decades of hands-on experience.
As co-owner, David has been instrumental in expanding Stonecrest's reach from its Sacramento roots into the Central Valley, establishing the Fresno office to serve families and businesses across Fresno, Kings, Tulare, and Madera counties. That expansion reflects a shared belief that local, independent insurance advice shouldn't be limited to the major metros.
Over more than 27 years, David has developed deep knowledge of the California insurance market — including the surplus lines and specialty markets that make it possible to find coverage when standard carriers can't or won't write it. In today's environment, where wildfire non-renewals and carrier withdrawals have left many California homeowners scrambling, that market access matters more than ever.
Stonecrest is licensed by the California Department of Insurance (License #0E11801) and serves clients across Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado, Yolo, Fresno, Kings, Tulare, and Madera counties.
